I Said I Wouldn't Do It

I know I said I would finish all my other projects before starting a new one. I know I said I was going to use up my stash before I would buy anymore yarn.

But then I met Pinterest. And saw all the lovelies on there. And got to thinking. And thinking led to planning. And well...a trip to JoAnn was in order.

It looks innocent enough, doesn't it? A simple granny square.

It goes with my latest color combination of teal, red, cream, and green. It mixes my love of Chrsitmas colors with my love of patriotic colors.

But wait...check out this granny....

When you add my forever stained coffee cup to give it size perspective it's HUGE! It is a super duper GINORMOUS giant granny! Oh little giant granny, you are nice, but how can it compare to Great-Granny?

What's really nice about this granny: she works up quick. Which means nice for gift giving. I am using a combination of Lion Brand's Hometown USA yarn and Sensations Sumptuous. They are size 6 bulky yarns, and I am using a size P hook, though now am thinking maybe a Q would make an even more gargantuan granny.

Now...someone better take away my crochet hooks and Pinterest soon, or I will need to find an addict support group.

  1. LOL! I was told I needed a support group too. I love both your grannys. Would it freak you out to hear that I don't know how to make a granny yet? :-0 Don't tell anyone!

  2. Wait wait wait.....whaaaaat? Grannies were my first project! Maybe that's why I have such a fond obsession with them. That and they are all vintagey-kitschy looking.

Oh you have so much to learn young Padawan.
